Mizu has been trained to turn an opponent’s confidence against them, slipping through danger like water between stones and striking only when there is no chance of failure.
But his travels are about more than rivalry. Mizuno Quack watches over fellow travelers from a distance, quietly stepping in whenever someone needs help and vanishing again before anyone can properly thank him.

Mizu Quack was raised within the hidden sanctuaries of the Silent Beak Clan, where young warriors are taught that the greatest victories are the ones no one ever sees coming. From his earliest days, he learned to move without sound, watch without being noticed, and let patience do the work that brute force never could.

But every Silent Beak grows up knowing the name of their oldest rival: the Iron Feather Clan.
For generations, the two clans have told very different versions of the same feud. Iron Feather elders claim the Silent Beaks betrayed an ancient alliance by stealing a sacred battle scroll. Silent Beak historians insist the Iron Feathers seized territory that had been protected by both clans for centuries. Somewhere beneath all the pride, rewritten history, and dramatic retellings, the truth has become almost impossible to separate from legend.

The rivalry became tradition. Training exercises became competitions. Competitions became grudges. Grudges became stories told to every new generation until neither clan could remember what peace between them was supposed to feel like.
